Reflexology is a holistic healing practice that involves applying pressure to specific
points on the feet to stimulate the body's natural healing abilities. This ancient
therapeutic technique is based on the belief that these areas, known as reflex
points, correspond to different organs, glands, and systems throughout the body.
By applying targeted pressure to these points, Reflexologists aim to restore
balance and harmony within the body, promoting overall well-being.

The benefits of reflexology are numerous and can positively impact both physical
and mental health. One of the primary advantages is stress reduction. By targeting
and releasing tension in the reflex points, reflexology helps to relax the body and
mind, reducing stress and promoting a sense of calm and relaxation. This, in turn,
can lead to improved sleep patterns, increased energy levels, and enhanced mood.

Often people seek therapy because they want to learn new ways to manage stress, anxiety or to overcome fears. Others want to improve their relationships, process grief, end obsessive thinking, gain control over addictive or destructive behaviours. The therapist-client relationship is both dynamic and collaborative in nature. Together we work on what the client wants to change.

Sound-Bath therapy is an exercise in deep listening. The powerful effects of sound and vibration stimulate your brain without you needing to “do anything.” Clients often report a positive release of emotion and physical tension. What’s wonderful about sound-bath therapy is: you don’t need any experience with mindfulness or meditation to experience its stress-reducing benefits. There is no wrong way to receive a sound bath. All you have to do is sit or lie down, settle into a comfortable position, close your eyes, and give yourself permission to take a time out. By bathing in the sound of the bowls, clients are better able to slow down and process the challenges of life.

Laura Notton is a registered social worker and psychotherapist. She provides both psychotherapy and sound bath therapy. You can book with her at https://lauranottontherapy.janeapp.com/
